Espen Oland, Thomas Hårklau

Kitemill was founded in 2008 and is based in Voss, Norway, with a test site and workshops at Lista, Norway. The company employs 13 staff and several advisors. The developed ground-generation airborne wind energy system is based on a tethered VTOL quadplane. In 2024 Kitemill secured a prestigeous €2.5 million EIC Accelerator grant to advance the commercialization of the technology.
