During his university education in Chile and Portugal, Claudio Vergara spent extended research periods at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid. He joined MIT as a Postdoctoral Associate and developed design and simulation computer models for distributed energy resources and electricity distribution networks. After working as Lead Product Architect at Zola Electric in San Francisco developing AC photovoltaic and battery energy-storage hardware for electricity access applications in developing countries, he joined Kitepower in July 2024 as Chief Technology Officer.
