Anastassia Saving

PhD Researcher

Technical University of Denmark

Anastassia is a PhD researcher investigating the socio-political acceptance and legitimacy of airborne wind energy. Her research explores how stakeholder perspectives and institutional frameworks influence where and how airborne wind energy is accepted and deployed. She completed her master’s degree in Wind Power Project Management at Uppsala University in Sweden, with a one-year research stay at Tohoku University in Japan. In her master’s thesis, she used qualitative methods to compare policies and technologies for recycling wind turbine blades and solar panels in the EU and Japan, which further strengthened her interest in the relationship between technology, institutions, and societal acceptance. Before starting her PhD, she also spent some time working in the wind energy industry in Sweden as a wind project developer and site manager.
